Making Waves

“Making Waves” is one of the sculptures I am using to show the threat of oil spills. I have used the Blue Macaubus Granite which resembles the ocean waves by its beautiful light blue color and dark blue lines. I am also using bronze to simulate the oil spill waves. The base is made out of Florida keystone to symbolize the bottom of our coastal ocean line. The contrast of seeing both types of waves together evokes an urgent emotional reaction.

Ocean Heat Waves

The “Ocean Heat Waves” has five pictures and a video. The video gives a better description because you see the different colors of light reflecting on the Cristal stone waves (white, blue, green, and red). These are colors that you see in the ocean due to pollution, ocean warming, ocean acidification, red tied, and carbon dioxide. The glass stones are made from recycled glass in a tumbled machine. Afterwards, I carve waves out of them.
